About The Position

Leidos' Ground Based Radar Digitization (GBRD) program is seeking a highly experienced Electrical Engineer to lead the emplacement of new and innovative radar systems. This is a large, multi-phase radar program with concurrent development, test, production, and sustainment activities. The role involves serving as the Electrical Engineering lead, working across multiple engineering disciplines to ensure design integrity, technical performance, and disciplined engineering execution. This position requires a systems-minded leader capable of directing technical work based on cost, schedule, risk, and requirements. Frequent travel to emplacement sites may be required. This is a fast-paced program with unique technical challenges, offering a rewarding milestone in any engineering career.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
  • BS + 12 years progressive engineering experience, or MS + 10 years.
  • Strong technical judgment and ability to communicate complex issues to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience with formal design reviews (PDR/CDR), configuration management, and risk management.
  • Basic understanding of radar systems and signal processing.
  • Active DoD security clearance (or eligibility to obtain).
  • Willing to travel frequently.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with radar, EO/IR, or other advanced sensing technologies.
  • Experience commissioning, maintaining, or decommissioning a radar site.

Responsibilities

  • Lead electrical engineering for site emplacement of a new digitized radar system; ensure all electrical tasks are completed for your assigned site.
  • Serve as the primary electrical engineering point of contact, with frequent site travel.
  • Act as site technical lead for engineering execution, system performance, and requirements compliance.
  • Review and interpret engineering drawings, site layouts, and electrical schematics for accurate implementation across all project phases.
  • Collaborate with design, analysis, and fabrication teams to resolve electrical challenges and optimize installation.
  • Manage and document electrical site survey data, including measurements, as-built conditions, and equipment inventories.
  • Provide guidance on electrical modifications, upgrades, and retrofits for site readiness and system compatibility.
  • Track project progress and coordinate electrical resources to meet milestones for decommissioning legacy systems, installing temporary solutions to maintain mission readiness, and final system emplacement.

Benefits

  • Diverse portfolio of systems, solutions, and services covering land, sea, air, space, and cyberspace for customers worldwide.
  • Solutions for Defense include enterprise and mission IT, large-scale intelligence systems, command and control, geospatial and data analytics, cybersecurity, logistics, training, and intelligence analysis and operations support.
  • Solving the world’s toughest security challenges for customers with “can’t fail” missions.
