About The Position

As a Ground Based Operational Surveillance System (GBOSS) Field Service Representative/Administrator, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Product Manager, Force Protection Systems (PM FPS) customer. Your work will be impactful to the mission, and you will collaborate with key stakeholders to understand business needs and requirements, providing appropriate solutions. You will serve as the point of contact in a distributed, geographically separated environment, managing the health and serviceability of multiple systems across a wide-spread geographic area. This position requires attending a three-week training course in Crane, IN prior to starting on site. You will oversee and perform installations, de-installations, testing systems and components, installation, configuration, and maintenance of servers in both physical and virtual environments, and perform Preventive Maintenance actions on a variety of systems belonging to the Elevated Sensors family of systems. You will create reports on system performance, security incidents, and other key metrics as requested by the customer and/or GDIT Leadership. You will provide recommendations for system improvements based on analysis and industry best practices aligned with mission requirements. Responsibilities include performing operational system performance checks, induction and return to service inspections, troubleshooting faults, removing and replacing components, servicing generators, removing and replacing fluids, performing adjustments and alignments, and using hand tools and electronic measuring devices such as AC/DC voltmeters and ohm meters. You will understand and follow technical manuals, engineering documents, schematic diagrams, safety bulletins, and news flashes. You will input data into databases and retrieve data to perform maintenance or provide reports as requested. Maintenance and analysis functions include hardware configurations; adding, removing, and replacing hardware components; using hardware and software diagnostic testing tools; reading electronic circuit schematics; and repairing printed circuit boards. You will also perform minor maintenance on generators such as changing oil and filter, and other duties as assigned related to the scope of an Area of Responsibility (AOR) for a Field Service Representative/Technician (FSR/FST). You will perform sustainment and PMCS maintenance on towers and payloads. You will maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, procedures, and changes. You will perform site surveys to determine the type and placement of systems. You will install and de-install systems and their components and train operators and end users. You will update databases, inform your lead of job status and any issues encountered, and generate/produce data and reports. You will provide support to end users and other IT staff by resolving complex hardware, software, and system-related issues. You will track and update work orders, including the replacement of parts, component serial numbers removed and replaced, and utilize COLTS.

Requirements

  • BS and 5-8 years of relevant experience (however years of experience will be considered in lieu of degree 9 years with AS/AS; 10 with High School)
  • Able to work in austere environmental conditions in remote deployment locations (including the ability to drive long distances in these locations)
  • The ability to meet physical demands of the position that can be included but not limited to ability to lift and carry 50 lbs., climb ladders, kneel, squat, stand, sit and other physical requirements to meet the position, to included extended workdays and work weeks

Responsibilities
