About The Position

Gunstock Mountain Resort is now accepting applications for Grooming Operators for the winter season. Groomers are responsible for providing quality snow surfaces throughout the resort. They work hard to ensure all grooming assignments are completed in a timely manner with an eye toward snow surface quality and slope safety.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older with a high school diploma or equivalent
• A minimum of 1-2 years of experience operating a grooming machine with proficient knowledge of slope maintenance
• Experience with blade and grading work
• Working knowledge of diesel and gasoline engines and hydraulic systems
• Required to move snowmaking and grooming parts, equipment, and materials weighing up to 25 lbs. regularly, up to 50 lbs. frequently, and up to 100 lbs. occasionally
• Must be able to work in variable outdoor winter weather conditions
• While performing the duties of a Groomer, the employee is regularly subjected to work near moving mechanical parts; in high, precarious places; and in outside weather conditions with frequent exposure to cold, wet conditions

Responsibilities

• Daily grooming of assigned areas which may include the slopes, base area, terrain parks, Nordic trails and tubing park
• Daily equipment checks and inspections
• On-hill transport of mountain operations equipment
