About The Position

The Grocery Stocker helps ensure guest service and departmental operations are maintained in the grocery department. The role stocks, rotates, and conditions grocery products; maintains safe, neat, and sanitary sales-floor and backroom areas; manages backstock and inventory; and assists with deliveries. The Grocery Stocker may also perform front-end duties and order products for assigned aisles.

Requirements

Ability to work well with others.
Ability to lift 40 pounds constantly and 60 pounds occasionally.
Ability to read and understand information and directions.
Knowledge of grocery operations.
Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
Effective communication and guest service skills.
Ability to bend, kneel, stand, push and pull stock carts, and operate a pallet jack for extended periods.
Employees under 18 may not operate an electric pallet jack or baler, or use a box cutter.

Responsibilities

Provide polite, friendly interactions with guests and co-workers.
Stock, rotate, and condition grocery products on shelves according to company standards and productivity guidelines.
Maintain a neat and safe work area so guests can shop without agitation.
Keep backstock organized and inventoried in the backroom.
Minimize damage and shrink through inventory control, rotation of shelves and overstock, and proper product handling.
Assist with unloading and verifying merchandise deliveries.
Maintain sanitation standards on the sales floor and in the backroom.
Communicate temperature problems in dairy and frozen foods to a supervisor.
Perform front-end duties as needed to uphold the “no noticeable wait” standard.
Order products for assigned aisles as directed by management.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
