About The Position

The Grocery Stocker helps maintain guest service and departmental operations in the grocery department. The role involves stocking and maintaining grocery products, keeping sales-floor and backroom areas orderly and sanitary, supporting inventory control and deliveries, and assisting with front-end duties as needed. The posting identifies this as a part-time position.

Requirements

Friendly, outgoing personality.
Ability to work well with others.
Ability to lift 40 pounds constantly and 60 pounds occasionally.
Ability to read and understand information and directions.
Knowledge of grocery operations.
Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical job requirements.
Effective communication and guest-service skills.
Ability to bend, kneel, stand, and push or pull stock carts for extended periods.
Ability to operate a pallet jack for extended periods. Employees under 18 may not operate an electric pallet jack, baler, or box cutter.

Responsibilities

Provide polite, friendly interactions with guests and co-workers.
Stock, rotate, and condition grocery products on shelves according to company standards and productivity guidelines.
Maintain a neat and safe work area so guests can shop comfortably.
Keep backstock organized and inventoried in the backroom.
Reduce damage and shrink through inventory control, rotation of shelf and overstock products, and proper product handling.
Assist with unloading and verifying merchandise deliveries.
Maintain sanitation standards on the sales floor and in the backroom.
Communicate dairy and frozen-food temperature problems to a supervisor.
Perform front-end duties as needed to maintain the “no noticeable wait” standard.
Order products for assigned aisles, as directed by management.
Perform other duties assigned by management.
