About The Position

The Grocery Stocker helps ensure guest service and departmental operations are maintained in the grocery department. The role involves stocking and maintaining grocery products, keeping work and backroom areas organized and safe, assisting with deliveries, and supporting front-end duties as needed.

Requirements

Friendly, outgoing personality.
Ability to work well with others.
Ability to lift 40 pounds constantly and 60 pounds occasionally.
Ability to read and understand information and directions.
Knowledge of grocery operations.
Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
Effective communication and guest service skills.
Ability to bend, kneel, stand, and push or pull stock carts for extended periods.
Ability to operate a pallet jack for extended periods. Employees under 18 may not operate an electric pallet jack, baler, or box cutter.

Responsibilities

Provide polite, friendly interactions with guests and co-workers.
Stock, rotate, and condition grocery products on shelves according to Lowes Foods standards and productivity guidelines.
Maintain a neat and safe work area so guests can shop without agitation.
Maintain organized, inventoried backstock in the backroom.
Minimize damage and shrink through proper inventory control, rotation of shelves and overstock, and product handling.
Assist with unloading and verifying merchandise upon delivery to the store.
Maintain sanitation standards on the sales floor and in the backroom.
Communicate temperature problems involving dairy and frozen food to a supervisor.
Perform front-end duties as necessary to uphold the “no noticeable wait” standard.
Order products for aisles as assigned by management.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
