About The Position

The Grocery Shift Leader is responsible for modeling, providing, and teaching exceptional Guest Service. In partnership with the Grocery Team Leader, this role helps lead the Grocery Team by setting clear expectations, supporting proper training, and holding Team Members accountable to Plum Market standards. The Grocery Shift Leader helps ensure Team Members are trained in product knowledge, proper rotation, merchandising standards, closing procedures, and safe work practices. This role supports daily department operations while helping create a positive, organized, and guest-focused shopping experience.

Requirements

A minimum of two years of experience working in grocery.
Strong knowledge of grocery products, merchandising standards, and department operations.
The ability to oversee and train Team Members on proper rotation techniques.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
The ability to stand and walk for up to 4 hours without a break.
The ability to bend, stoop, grasp objects, climb ladders, lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted, and push or pull carts weighing up to 100 lbs. unassisted.
Able to work a variety of shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

Model and provide exceptional Guest Service.
Train, mentor, and coach Grocery Team Members to support their success.
Support the Grocery Team Leader in holding Team Members accountable to department standards.
Ensure Team Members are properly trained on product knowledge, proper rotation, merchandising standards, and closing procedures.
Effectively resolve Guest issues and communicate concerns as needed.
Communicate Team Member issues to the Grocery Team Leader and Store Leadership.
Assist with the sampling program by keeping sample areas full, clean, and appealing.
Follow and comply with all applicable health, sanitation, and food safety procedures.
Adhere to all safe work practices.
Provide feedback to the Grocery Team Leader to support performance reviews.
Communicate effectively with Guests, Team Members, and Store Leadership.
