About The Position

That's WEIS! The associate is responsible for keeping the Grocery department well stocked, organized and appealing to meet customer demands and maximize sales. This includes building displays to drive incremental sales, stocking and rotating merchandise to ensure freshness, and keeping product within easy customer reach. The role also involves storing excess merchandise according to backroom organization guidelines, smiling and greeting customers, answering customer questions, and helping resolve customer concerns promptly in a polite and professional manner. The associate will apply proper stocking techniques to ensure products are properly located on shelves, ensure merchandise is in saleable condition with correct prices and signs. Responsibilities may include assisting with receiving, unloading, checking-in, breaking-down, and storing deliveries through operation of power jack or hand jack (if properly trained – training provided). Handling damaged or discontinued items according to company policy and removing product that cannot be sold are also key duties. The role requires responsibility for general sanitation in the department, following cleaning schedules and department guidelines to ensure that work areas, equipment, counters, display cases, etc. are well maintained, clean and meet all health and OSHA requirements. Proper disposal of trash, maintaining productivity standards, work methods and standards, and shrink control are essential. Compliance with security regulations and policies, and putting out stock at an acceptable rate as determined by company standards are required. The associate may also assist with baling cardboard or other related duties (if properly trained. Training provided). Ensuring smooth function of department and store by cooperating with co-workers and supervisors, and continuously improving job performance are expected. The associate is responsible for the utilization of all company provided Personal Protected Equipment (PPE), including but not limited to cut resistant gloves, safety cutters, company sponsored footwear, etc. May also be called upon to assist in other departments.

Requirements

Completed or working towards a High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
No prior experience required.
