About The Position

That's WEIS! This role is responsible for keeping the Grocery department well stocked, organized, and appealing to meet customer demands and maximize sales. The associate will build displays to drive incremental sales, stock and rotate merchandise to ensure freshness, and keep product within easy customer reach. They will also store excess merchandise according to backroom organization guidelines, smile and greet customers, answer customer questions, and help resolve customer concerns promptly in a polite and professional manner. Proper stocking techniques will be applied to ensure products are properly located on shelves, and merchandise is in saleable condition with correct prices and signs. Responsibilities may include receiving, unloading, checking-in, breaking-down, and storing deliveries through operation of power jack or hand jack (if properly trained – training provided). The associate will handle damaged or discontinued items according to company policy and remove product that cannot be sold. General sanitation in the department is crucial, following cleaning schedules and department guidelines to ensure work areas, equipment, counters, display cases, etc. are well maintained, clean, and meet all health and OSHA requirements. Trash disposal is also a responsibility. The associate must maintain productivity standards, work methods, standards, and shrink control, and comply with security regulations and policies. Stocking at an acceptable rate as determined by company standards is expected. May assist with baling cardboard or other related duties (if properly trained. Training provided). Ensuring smooth function of department and store by cooperating with co-workers and supervisors and continuously improving job performance are key. The associate is responsible for the utilization of all company provided Personal Protected Equipment (PPE), including but not limited to cut resistant gloves, safety cutters, company sponsored footwear, etc. May also be called upon to assist in other departments.

Requirements

Completed or working towards a High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
No prior experience required.
