About The Position

That's WEIS! This position is responsible for keeping the Grocery department well stocked, organized and appealing to meet customer demands and maximize sales. The associate will build displays to drive incremental sales, stock and rotate merchandise to ensure freshness, and keep product within easy customer reach. They will store excess merchandise according to backroom organization guidelines, smile and greet customers, answer customer questions and help resolve customer concerns promptly in a polite and professional manner. The role involves applying proper stocking techniques to ensure products are properly located on shelves, ensuring merchandise is in saleable condition with correct prices and signs. Responsibilities may include assisting with receiving, unloading, checking-in, breaking-down, and storing deliveries through operation of power jack or hand jack (if properly trained –training provided). The associate will handle damaged or discontinued items according to company policy and remove product that cannot be sold. Sanitation is a key responsibility, including following cleaning schedules and department guidelines to ensure that work areas, equipment, counters, display cases, etc. are well maintained, clean and meet all health and OSHA requirements, and disposing of trash properly. The role requires maintaining productivity standards, work methods and standards and shrink control, and complying with security regulations and policies. Stocking at an acceptable rate as determined by company standards is expected. May also assist with baling cardboard or other related duties (if properly trained. Training provided). Ensuring smooth function of department and store by cooperating with co-workers and supervisors and continuously improving job performance are also key aspects of the role. Responsible for utilization of all company provided Personal Protected Equipment (PPE). Including but not limited to cut resistant gloves, safety cutters, company sponsored footwear, etc. May also be called upon to assist in other departments.

Requirements

Completed or working towards a High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
No prior experience required.
