About The Position

That's WEIS! This position is responsible for keeping the Grocery department well stocked, organized and appealing to meet customer demands and maximize sales. The associate will build displays to drive incremental sales, stock and rotate merchandise to ensure freshness, and keep product within easy customer reach. They will also store excess merchandise according to backroom organization guidelines, smile and greet customers, answer customer questions and help resolve customer concerns promptly in a polite and professional manner. The role involves applying proper stocking techniques to ensure products are properly located on shelves, ensuring merchandise is in saleable condition with correct prices and signs. Depending on training, the associate may assist with receiving, unloading, checking-in, breaking-down, and storing deliveries through operation of power jack or hand jack. Handling damaged or discontinued items according to company policy, removing product that cannot be sold, and maintaining general sanitation in the department are also key responsibilities. This includes following cleaning schedules and department guidelines to ensure that work areas, equipment, counters, display cases, etc. are well maintained, clean and meet all health and OSHA requirements, and disposing of trash properly. The associate must maintain productivity standards, work methods and standards and shrink control, and comply with security regulations and policies. Stocking at an acceptable rate as determined by company standards is required. Depending on training, the associate may also assist with baling cardboard or other related duties. Ensuring smooth function of department and store by cooperating with co-workers and supervisors, and continuously improving job performance are essential. The associate is responsible for the utilization of all company provided Personal Protected Equipment (PPE), including but not limited to cut resistant gloves, safety cutters, company sponsored footwear, etc. The associate may also be called upon to assist in other departments.

Requirements

Completed or working towards a High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
No prior experience required.
