About The Position

Provide exceptional customer service in a safe and clean environment to encourage customers to return. The Grocery Clerk responds courteously to customer questions and requests, follows company policies and shrink guidelines, and performs overnight grocery stocking tasks. These include unloading deliveries, sorting and moving merchandise, stocking shelves and sales-floor displays, reading shelf and merchandise codes, and manually attaching price labels. The role requires the ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Conduct yourself professionally and maintain a positive attitude, speaking favorably about the company around customers and employees.

• Unload trucks, including dairy, frozen, and grocery deliveries.
• Remove merchandise from pallets and sort it according to the store area where it will be stocked.
• Load merchandise onto carts for placement on designated shelves in the back room or on the sales floor.
• Read codes on shelves and merchandise labels.
• Manually attach price labels to items.
• Bring merchandise from the back room to stock sales-floor shelves and build special sales displays.
• Operate a manual pallet jack, powered pallet stacker, or straddle stacker if over 18 years of age.
• Perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
