The Grinder Operator is responsible for operating a grinding machine safely while maintaining a clean work area. This role requires knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and safety protocols specific to the grinding process. The position involves inspecting equipment, parts, and blades for proper repair and sanitation before setup, interpreting work instructions, and accurately identifying raw materials. The operator will assist in verifying lot number usage according to formulas, performing transactions using an RF terminal or scanner, and communicating effectively during shift changes. Key responsibilities include controlling product losses, washing down equipment for product changeovers, discarding trash properly, maintaining a clean work area, boxing raw materials, and ensuring rework is used as specified. The role also requires informing warehouse personnel of needed raw materials, potentially maintaining a forklift license, and reporting any deficiencies that could compromise food safety. Adherence to GMP standards and safety guidelines is mandatory. The position requires the ability to read schedules, meat sheets, and spec sheets to ensure correct product is on the production line.
