About The Position

The Grinder Operator will operate grinder machinery to perform various tasks, such as breaking down scrap materials for recycling. This role involves adhering to safety rules, operating equipment, inspecting finished products, and maintaining a clean work area.

Requirements

Must have attention to detail, including basic math skills with the ability to add and subtract accurately.
Proficient in the basic use of a computer to facilitate the entry and completion of work orders.
Able to use basic hand tools.
Must physically be able to frequently lift to 35 lbs. with frequent bending.
Able to multi-task with shifting priorities and multiple interruptions.
Must be able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment including but not limited to gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, and beard/hair nets.

Responsibilities

Adheres to plant and department safety rules, safely operates all equipment, and tools, identifies, and reports safety problems, and corrects when possible.
Set up, operate, and tend shearing and grinding machines for the sizing or destruction of web and tray scrap.
Correct problems by adjusting controls.
Inspecting finished products to ensure there are no contaminants.
Record operational information on specified production reports.
Clean, lubricate, maintain, and adjust equipment to maintain efficient operation, using air hoses and hand tools.
Load and unload material onto the machine for processing.
Package material into a SuperSac that is placed on a skid for transport.
Knowledge and compliance with all SOPs, company, and safety procedures.
Maintain a clean and safe work area.
Perform other tasks as assigned by management.
Execution of the Equipment Cleaning Program.
Execution of Start-of-Shift Inspections.
Breaking down scrap materials for recycling.
Execution of Shipment Inspections.
Execution of Documentation.
