About The Position

The Grinder I is responsible for grinding sheet metal in the flat pattern (nest) and grinding enclosures. The role includes caring for grinding equipment and maintaining a clean work environment. The employee prepares parts prior to outside processing, sustains 5S at workstations, and uses lean practices to support department efficiency. The position also requires following company rules and safety procedures, wearing required personal protective equipment, and practicing ESL’s core values.

Requirements

• Good oral communication skills.
• Ability to multitask.
• Self-motivated.
• Detail-oriented.
• Ability to stand or walk and lift, pull, and push for the majority of the scheduled shift.
• Ability to hear well enough to communicate with coworkers.
• Ability to climb, stoop, and kneel.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work with 12-foot ladders.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Grind metal using a grinder machine, sander, and time saver.
• Use small hand tools such as wrenches and pneumatic grinders.
• Prepare parts prior to outside processing.
• Maintain 5S at workstations and keep the work environment clean.
