About The Position

This role focuses on power system studies and grid interconnection, requiring expertise in modeling software and understanding of ISO/RTO interconnection processes. The engineer will be responsible for developing and validating power system models, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and navigating the end-to-end interconnection process.

Requirements

• 5+ years in power system studies or grid interconnection (3+ with an advanced degree or exceptional, directly-relevant experience).
• Hands-on proficiency with PSS/E and PSCAD, including model development and validation.
• Working knowledge of at least one ISO/RTO interconnection process end to end (ERCOT, SPP, MISO, PJM, NYISO, or WECC).
• Familiarity with NERC MOD/FAC/PRC standards and ISO/utility model- submittal requirements.
• B.S. in Electrical Engineering, power-systems concentration.

Nice To Haves

• PSLF, TARA, ASPEN, or PowerWorld experience.
• Grid-following (GFL) and grid-forming (GFM) inverter modeling; user-defined model (UDM) integration.
• Python for case automation and post-processing.
• Experience representing owners/developers through ISO study cycles.
• Large-load / data center interconnection exposure.
• EIT or PE on track.
