About The Position

Join our Asset Maintenance team supporting Grid Hardening and make a meaningful impact for Avista’s customers through upgrades of our electrical distribution system to strengthen reliability and reduce wildfire risk. As a Grid Hardening Customer Project Coordinator, you’ll be part of a highly collaborative team. Key responsibilities include designing and coordinating solutions to upgrade existing infrastructure, including overhead and underground utility work, concentrating on high fire risk areas, proactively reaching out to customers, responding to customer inquiries, and resolving issues. This role requires strong communication and technical skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments. Must have the ability to navigate ambiguity and shifting priorities. You’ll collaborate with customers, contractors, and internal teams to deliver safe, timely, and customer-focused solutions. Must complete the CPC Training Program within the allowable time schedule. A solid understanding of utility standards and relevant portions of the National Electric Safety Code (NESC) needed. This position establishes and maintains good community relations, maintains relationships with contacts in the utility industry and internal stakeholders. Experience in electric utility design, project coordination and familiarity with overhead and underground distribution systems preferred. Must have strong interpersonal skills and ability to manage multiple priorities, comfortable working in dynamic, fast-paced environments.

Requirements

  • High School diploma, GED, or Journeyman card required (for CPC I)
  • 6+ months' relevant work experience related to GIS, planning, and/or designing construction of natural gas or electric facilities with an emphasis in customer service (for CPC I)
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Demonstrated skills in cooperating in a team environment, negotiation, problem solving, construction management, and excellent communication skills
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn computer applications for construction design
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites throughout Avista service territory
  • Strong working knowledge of key operation business process and core applications
  • Ability to interpret and explain complex business processes and concepts
  • College Level Degree, Journeyman Card or equivalent education and experience (for CPC II)
  • Three+ years work experience directly related to planning and designing of electric facilities with an emphasis in customer service (for CPC II)
  • Other combinations of education and experience may be considered
  • Must complete the CPC Training Program within the allowable time schedule
