About The Position
Lincoln Center Theater (LCT) is seeking a Greeter/ Claire Tow Theater Usher to join their team. LCT's mission is to bring exceptional theater to life, making the magic of theatre more palpable, empowering visionary artists, and inviting the community to celebrate the power of live performance. Founded in 1985, LCT is a leading nonprofit theater, producing an annual season of plays and musicals. It is one of 11 autonomous constituents of the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts and welcomes nearly 300,000 audience members annually to its home on the Lincoln Center campus. LCT is dedicated to fostering a theater representative of all the populations it serves and values empathy, dignity, and care. The Greeter/Usher will work in all three theaters at LCT, with the primary goal of making every person feel welcome and providing excellent customer service. This role may also assist during special events throughout the year.
Requirements
- Customer service experience
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Friendly and outgoing disposition
- Knowledge of the theatre
- Line and crowd management
- Night and weekend availability, and daytime availability on Wednesdays
- Adaptable and calm under pressure
Responsibilities
- Greet all guests coming to the theater(s).
- Provide directions and answer any questions guests may have regarding the theater/show.
- Help with line management of bathroom lines during intermission, and possibly prior to the show.
- Help take tickets, distribute playbills, and seat guests for shows in the Tow.
- Ensure performance house rules, such as entry, exit, late seating, photography etc. are adhered to.
- Maintain access control to performance areas.
