Greenskeeper - Golf Course Maintenance
About The Position
Waialae Country Club is a private membership club that offers its members a championship golf course, dining services, and health/recreational facilities. The club is also the host of the PGA Tour's Sony Open in Hawaii and is recognized as a Platinum Club of America, Honorable Mention Platinum Club of the World, and a Distinguished Club with ELITE status by BoardRoom Magazine. This position is for a Greenskeeper in Golf Course Maintenance, a full-time role (30+ hours per week) within the Grounds Department, reporting to the Golf Course Superintendent/Assistant Golf Course Superintendent.
Requirements
- Must be able to safely operate landscaping tools, machinery and equipment.
- Must be able to work outdoors, stand, and walk for extended periods of times.
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to work in a team environment as well as independently.
- Must be available to work from 4:30am - 12:30pm including on weekends and holidays.
Nice To Haves
- Prior golf course maintenance experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Maintains golf course turf and bunkers.
- Levels, rakes, weeds and maintains bunker floors, faces, and edges.
- Trims sprinkler heads, tree bases, edges of ditches, boundaries, and fence lines.
- Mows curb strips and trims hedges.
- Fills irregularities in turf; and hand weeds greens.
- Applies fertilizer and pesticide to grass, plants and trees.
- Assists with golf course aeration.
