About The Position
The successful candidate will work with the manager and greenhouse specialist team to harvest and transplant our lettuce crop in an environmentally controlled hydroponic greenhouse.
Requirements
- Some knowledge and passion for hydroponic plant production (vine and leaf crops)
- Ability to follow a very high standard of procedures for our food safety program.
- Excellent communication skills
- Self motivated
- Team player
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Responsibilities
- Harvest and transplant our hydroponic lettuce crop on a weekly basis
- Weighing lettuce on a scale during harvest
- Picking floats of lettuce up out of the ponds
- Taping boxes
- Putting floats through our float washer machine
- Cleaning propagation tables
- Assisting other team members with clean up after harvest
- Other duties as assigned or required
