About The Position

General Maintenance positions are responsible for keeping machinery running to maintain continuous production. This role requires setting up, adjusting, and breaking down production line machinery. The position also involves learning Tyson SAP software for work orders and daily documentation, clear communication with upper management and team members regarding equipment repair status, and performing necessary math for machinery and fluid capacities. The job requires the ability to lift 70 lbs with assistance and stand for 12 hours, as well as completing all required training.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 1-year related maintenance experience and/or technical certifications.
  • Working knowledge of electricity, power transmissions, plumbing, hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, cutting, and the use of shop tools.
  • Must not have a Written Warning within the last 6 months of the bid date.
  • Cannot have over 6 points to be considered for this position.
  • If hired into a maintenance position, must stay below 10 points to maintain this role.
  • Must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Must be available to work overtime and weekends if required.

  • Internal candidates will be considered first.

  • If selected for this position and choose to decline, you will be ineligible to apply for another position for six months.
  • If you accept the position, you will not be eligible for lateral moves or positions with lower pay for six months; only promotions will be considered.
  • Team members interested in transferring into this position from another Tyson facility should express interest through their local HR Partner.
  • This position is slated for team members who are currently working at this facility or complex only.

  • Read and write as required for the job.
  • Use math for work-related computations, including machinery and fluid capacities.
  • Lift 70 lbs with assistance on a daily basis.
  • Work on feet for 12 hours.
  • Complete all required training for the job.
  • Communicate clearly with Upper Management and team members via phone, in person, and in writing regarding the status of equipment repairs.
