About The Position

The Grease Route Driver is responsible for the operation of a grease collection truck to collect cooking oil while providing quality service to our customers. This role involves ensuring the cleanliness of containers and surrounding areas, completing route tickets, and maintaining the company vehicle. The driver must adhere to all safety regulations and company policies, maintain excellent customer relations, and complete all required paperwork accurately.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Must be 21 years of age with clean MVR.
• Minimum of 1 years of experience operating similar vehicle to grease route truck.
• Current class A CDL holder with tanker endorsements
• Must register on https://clearinghouse.fmcsa.dot.gov
• Must accept Darling Ingredient's Drug and Alcohol Request on Clearinghouse website.

• Prior route experience within a customer oriented environment preferred.

• Dependable; reliable; ability to work nights and/or weekends as needed.
• Ability to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen.
• Good math and communication skills.
• Knowledge of safe operation of a commercial motor vehicle and general maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Pump or load grease containers; ensure cleanliness of container and surrounding area; returns container with screen and lock secured; notes any damages to container or corral area; properly completes route ticket with customer signature.
• Responsible for established route as assigned.
• Responsible for company vehicle; keeps vehicle in clean condition.
• Conducts all safety checks and inspections of vehicle; operates vehicle under state, federal, local regulations and in accordance with company policy and procedures; observes all company safety rules.
• Attendance at all safety meetings required; may be asked to serve on Safety Committee.
• Maintain excellent customer relations by presenting professional appearance and attitude.
• Responsible for completing all company required paperwork in accordance with company policies (route tickets, driver vehicle inspection reports, accident reports, mileage reports, service forms, etc).
• Maintain and update vehicle condition report on a daily basis.
• All other duties as assigned.
