About The Position

The Graphics QC supports the USCG Aviation Logistics Center Technical Information Management Branch (TIMB) by reviewing and providing feedback regarding rework or rejection of illustrations, engineering drawings, and solid models IAW prescribed standards and timelines. Shall be a United States (U.S.) citizen.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a graphic design/layout discipline, or four (4) years’ related experience in reviewing and ensuring quality and conformance of all practices associated with graphic design/layout, technical illustrating, computer drafting/design, electronic file configuration management/document control, and management of TDPs.
  • Knowledge of ASME Y14 Standards, S1000D, Mil-STD-31000.
  • Sufficient expertise on all relative software, standards, processes, and policy so that evaluation and compliance issues related to graphics material can be resolved.
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English fluently.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook and TEAMS.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with S1000D and IETM preferred
  • Familiarity with PTC ArborText IsoDraw and Adobe Acrobat highly desired

Responsibilities

  • Review for acceptance all illustrations, engineering drawings, and solid models received in the shared mailbox D05-SMB-ALC-ESD-Graphics-QA.
  • Provide feedback to the requestor in regards to rework or rejection pertaining to QC disapprovals via the ESD Microsoft Outlook QC template.
  • Ensure all incoming Electronic Signature (ESIG) forms received through the shared mailbox D05-SMB-ALC-ESD-Graphics-QA, are acknowledged and processed for final approval IAW CGTO PG-85-00-240-A.
  • Maintain all correspondence regarding approval or disapproval of QC requests within the existing email folder structure.
  • Immediately consult with the Government Technical Lead regarding standards and/or quality concerns.
  • Serve as the Point of Contact (POC) for the Government for all matters related to graphics QC and standardization as required.
  • Provide configuration management for all TDPs IAW CGTO PG-85- 00-240-A. Requests are received in the USCG shared email account D05-SMB-ALC- ESD-Graphics-QA.
  • Responsible for initiation of all ESIGs for TIMB generated engineering drawings, the QC portion of assigned drawings in the ESIG process, and the final processing of ESIGs as defined. Track all ESIGs throughout the workflow.
  • Assign the ALC drawing number from ATIP and respond to the request within one (1) business day from receipt of the request.
  • Perform the drawing check out, all verification procedures related to configuration management, and respond to the requestor within one (1) business day from receipt of the request.
  • Upon final approval by all required authorities on the ESIG form, perform the final upload of approved drawings into ATIP within (2) business days of completion.
  • Assign a RAD number from the ESD RAD spreadsheet. The VECTORCSP sub-contractor shall respond to the requestor with the RAD number within one (1) business day from receipt of the request.
