About The Position

The United Group of Companies, Inc. is a leader in real estate development and management with over 50 years of industry expertise. They are seeking a full-time Graphic and Web Designer to join their Corporate office team in Troy, NY. This role reports to the Director of Marketing Services and is responsible for producing high-quality collateral and marketing materials for both print and digital applications. The designer will conceptualize and design websites and landing pages, ensuring visual consistency and adhering to SEO best practices and legal accessibility standards. They will also be involved in front-end implementation using HTML, CSS, and basic JavaScript, staying current with design trends, managing multiple projects, handling print production, ordering supplies, and shipping materials. Effective communication with internal staff and participation in meetings for continual improvement are also key aspects of the role.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in design production using Adobe Creative Cloud, Microsoft Office and printing interfaces.
  • Experience building entire websites using Wix, HubSpot, WordPress or similar software.
  • Must have an understanding, knowledge, ability, and know the appropriate use of raster vs. vector, RGB vs. CMYK, web graphics, multi-page document design.
  • General knowledge of AI and modern technologies to drive innovation within our marketing and sales strategies

Responsibilities

  • Producing high-quality collateral and marketing materials
  • Design of various materials for use in print and digital application
  • Conceptualizing and designing websites & landing pages: create visually appealing, user-friendly, and effective website layouts and visual elements (like icons and banners) that align with client or company branding.
  • Ensuring visual consistency: establish and maintain design guidelines, style guides, and standards (including color theory, typography, and imagery) across all web pages and digital assets.
  • Front-end implementation (Basic): utilize front-end development skills (proficiency in HTML, CSS, and basic JavaScript) to turn visual designs into functional web pages
  • Design with SEO best practices and legal accessibility standards (like WCAG) in mind
  • Staying current: research and evaluate new design trends, techniques, software, and technologies to keep the website modern and competitive.
  • Managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Print production via the on-site print production equipment
  • Ordering of print production materials as needed (paper, toner, supplies, etc.)
  • Shipping of materials in a timely and cost-effective manner
  • Communicating effectively with internal staff
  • Participating in meetings with managers and developing goals for continual improvement
