Graphic Designer

CRAFTS GROUP LLCVancouver, WA
$0 - $55,000Hybrid

About The Position

At Local Crafts, we're the creative force behind some of the most beloved names in crafting — Connecting Threads, Superior Threads, Knit Picks, Crochet.com, Jimmy Beans Wool and Berroco. From our own workshops to trusted partners around the globe, we design and curate products makers reach for every day: the fabrics, threads, yarns, and tools that turn ideas into finished pieces. We're looking for an entry-level Graphic Designer who thinks equally in pixels and paper. In this role, you will bring our brands to life across email campaigns and print materials, working with a cross-functional creative team to produce work that reaches passionate makers every day. It's a hands-on role with real creative ownership from the start, and a genuine opportunity to build your skills across two distinct design disciplines.

Requirements

  • A portfolio that shows both email and print design work (student, freelance, or personal projects are welcome)
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite: Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and After Effects
  • A strong grasp of design principles, including typography, color theory, visual hierarchy, and balance
  • Working knowledge of email design constraints: mobile rendering, image-to-text ratios, and file size best practices
  • Understanding of print production requirements: bleed, crop marks, CMYK vs RGB, resolution, and preflight basics
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to juggle multiple projects and meet tight deadlines without compromising quality
  • Clear, confident communication skills, both written and verbal, with comfort presenting work to a range of audiences
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa at this time

Nice To Haves

  • Basic video editing skills and experience with HTML/CSS for email are a plus
  • You take ownership of your work and proactively follow through
  • You view feedback as a tool for getting better
  • You stay organized when multiple projects are moving at once and flag issues before they become problems
  • You're curious about what performs well and why, and you want to be part of testing and learning as a team
  • You have a genuine interest in crafting, fiber arts, or the maker world (it shows in the work)
  • You want to grow your craft in an environment where you're surrounded by people who care deeply about quality

Responsibilities

  • Design and build emails and email templates that are on-brand, mobile-responsive, and ready for deployment
  • Create print-ready files for catalogs, packaging inserts, flyers, signage, and other physical marketing materials
  • Apply brand guidelines consistently across all touchpoints for our portfolio of craft brands
  • Collaborate with marketing and copywriting teams to translate briefs into finished design assets
  • Build and animate GIFs and other digital assets that bring campaigns to life
  • Manage your own files with clean folder structures and version control habits that make handoffs seamless
  • QA your own work before submission, catching errors in copy, color, bleed, and dimensions
  • Participate in design reviews, support A/B creative testing, and bring a curiosity about what works and why

Benefits

  • medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • 401(k) with company match
  • paid time off
  • parental leave
  • Employee discounts across all Local Crafts brands
