About The Position

The Graphic Designer supports the planning and execution of graphic design and visual communication activities, providing graphic design support across organizational initiatives, programs, partnerships, and communications projects. Working in close partnership with internal teams, external stakeholders, vendors, and production partners, this role supports cross-functional projects by developing high-quality, brand-compliant visual assets across print, digital, environmental, and promotional applications. The role serves as a collaborative partner to coordinate graphic design requests across the foundation, contributes to the implementation of brand standards, visual identity, and design best practices, manages design project intake and prioritization, coordinates print production and vendor relationships, maintains digital design assets, and helps ensure consistent, accessible, and high-quality visual communications across a variety of platforms and initiatives. Success in this role requires strong organizational, analytical, creative problem-solving, and project coordination skills, along with the ability to manage multiple priorities, support cross-functional collaboration, and exercise professional judgment in developing visual communications that align with organizational priorities and established brand standards. The role also requires attention to detail, adaptability, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and a collaborative approach.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in graphic design, visual communications, fine arts, or a related field required.
  • 4–6 years of progressively responsible experience in graphic design, visual communications, brand management, or a related creative discipline gained through in-house, agency, or freelance work supporting multiple stakeholders and concurrent projects.
  • Demonstrated expertise in graphic design principles, visual communication, typography, layout, color theory, and brand identity across print and digital media.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating experience developing high-quality visual communications across a variety of print, digital, environmental, and promotional formats.
  • Proven experience preparing production-ready files and coordinating with printers, fabricators, vendors, and other external production partners.
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities, coordinate multiple initiatives simultaneously, and maintain organized, accurate work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication (verbal, written, presentation) and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify challenges, develop practical solutions, and exercise strong attention to detail and sound judgment.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners to support project goals, timelines, operational objectives, and institutional standards.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and PowerPoint, and familiarity with project management and collaboration platforms such as Asana and SharePoint.
  • Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and Canva Pro.
  • High level of professional integrity and the ability to handle sensitive issues and situations with discretion.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment, remaining adaptable and resilient.

Responsibilities

  • Exercise independent design judgment to develop, shape, and refine graphic design solutions that represent Art Bridges' programs, partnerships, and institutional priorities across print, digital, and environmental communications.
  • Produce layouts, graphics, social content, presentations, signage, print collateral, event materials, infographics, and other branded visual assets supporting departments across the foundation while ensuring alignment with Art Bridges' visual identity.
  • Produce assets supporting partner museums, marketing campaigns, and foundation initiatives.
  • Apply and uphold existing brand guidelines across all output, flagging inconsistencies for resolution.
  • Develop, refine, and maintain graphic design assets, ensuring visual consistency, quality, accessibility, and alignment with Art Bridges' brand standards and communication objectives.
  • Oversee design projects through established creative review and approval processes, collaborating with Marketing and Communications leadership and internal stakeholders to incorporate feedback while maintaining visual consistency and design quality.
  • Ensure all visual assets align with the Art Bridges Brand Standards, visual identity, accessibility expectations, and organizational goals, promoting consistency across the foundation's communications.
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues across departments to advise on graphic design best practices, brand standards, and visual communication approaches while supporting the development of materials that accurately and effectively represent departmental initiatives.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders across the organization to develop visual communications that support organizational priorities while ensuring projects are delivered on schedule.
  • Manage design project intake and prioritization, scoping project requirements, establishing realistic timelines, coordinating workload, and proactively communicating priorities and capacity constraints.
  • Prepare production-ready files (print specifications, bleeds, color profiles, proofs) and manage handoff to printers and fabricators.
  • Manage vendor and contractor relationships for print, signage, promotional items, and other physical deliverables, sourcing quotes, reviewing proofs, negotiating timelines and pricing, and ensuring quality and brand compliance on finished goods.
  • Manage design workflows and task tracking in Asana; maintain working files in Adobe Creative Suite and Canva Pro; store and organize assets in SharePoint.
  • Maintain organized source files, asset libraries, and version control.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned to support evolving organizational needs.
