About The Position

The position of North America (NA) Graphic Designer will focus on graphic and information design for priority pursuits and proposals, as well as various prepositioning and business development efforts. This role demands an understanding of graphic design fundamentals, along with creativity, effective collaboration skills, and proficiency in technical software to execute design concepts quickly and efficiently. This position requires the ability to collaborate seamlessly and effectively with diverse teams, including proposal managers, capture managers, and technical staff on identified pursuits. This includes preparing formal and informal client solicitations, such as requests for qualifications (RFQ), requests for proposals (RFP), pre-solicitation efforts, and interviews.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat Pro) applications.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) applications.
  • Proficiency in collaborative tools (Microsoft Outlook, Teams, SharePoint).
  • Proficiency in graphic design fundamentals, including layout, typography, color theory, and visual hierarchy.
  • Understanding of industry graphic design best practices and procedures, work processes, and tools.
  • Understanding of print design and production.
  • Understanding of presentation design and production.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Communications, or Fine Arts or equivalent certification from accredited school.
  • 5+ years prior graphic design experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, adept at handling challenging situations diplomatically.
  • Strong customer service, positive attitude, and flexibility in high-pressure environments.
  • Strong organization and time management skills; aptitude and willingness to take on project ownership; self-starter.

  • 2+ years experience working in marketing and proposals department preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Create effective documents and presentations, with a strong understanding of proposal and presentation psychology to clearly convey messages, themes, and evaluation criteria.
  • Develop informative graphics that convey complex information, including infographics, figures, charts, maps, and diagrams, and support messaging and themes.
  • Develop creative custom presentations with animation, sound, or other components, collaborating with proposal teams.
  • Develop customized templates for client pursuits and presentations.
  • Adherence to best practices in photo editing and color correction, with a focus on headshot retouching and project photography enhancement.
  • Design customized covers and tabs, coordinating with vendors and production staff.
  • Communicate and articulate design briefs and creative options to stakeholders.
  • Process comments and edits to graphic elements, collaborating with subject experts or authors to finalize and resolve issues.
  • Develop graphics that meet specified vendor requirements, including graphics for exhibits, boards, or promotional items.
  • Oversee and support the finalization of documents for production, packaging, or shipping, providing coaching and support to junior designers.
  • Possess initiative, skill, and personal commitment to manage multiple projects and details concurrently, follow-up, and bring tasks and projects to full completion.
  • Participate in planning, storyboarding/content planning, and reviews (e.g., Pink and Red) as part of the pursuit team.
  • Provide technical or logistics support for presentations, video conferencing meetings, storyboarding sessions, key review meetings, and final document reviews.
  • Actively participate in capture and proposal kick-off meetings to understand all relevant RFP requirements and to ensure graphic compliance.
  • Strong ability to proofread and apply writing/grammatical rules to ensure high-quality products.
  • Resourceful problem solver, able work with team and identify visual or graphics to best communicate.
  • Capable of producing accurate, compliant, and compelling work both independently and as part of a team.
