About The Position

Shade is a fast-scaling company that has built advanced technology for video processing and AI-powered visual search, serving major customers in post-production, creative agencies, sports, and internal media teams. We are growing rapidly and are backed by prominent venture capital firms. We are building a platform to eliminate tedious aspects of creative work, such as waiting for downloads, manual tagging, and archive sorting, by operating at the file system level. This role is an opportunity to join the company on the ground floor.

Requirements

  • 2-3 years of experience as a graphic designer, preferably at a scaling startup (Series A and beyond).
  • Experience working with and maintaining a consistent brand image.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Suite, including After Effects.
  • Experience with Jitter, Flutter, and Rive.
  • Ability to create static designs and motion graphics.
  • Comfortable making product mockups in Photoshop.
  • Expertise in Framer & Figma, including variables, auto-layout, responsive design, prototyping, and component library management.
  • Experience with Framer, CMS management, and image/SVG optimizations.
  • High ownership and willingness to be the first and last set of eyes on feature builds.
  • Experience in design-developer handoff.
  • High empathy and motivation to solve creative friction.
  • Meticulous attention to detail but pragmatic approach to speed and product delivery.
  • Shipped work across mediums (web, desktop, mobile) with live links.
  • Demonstrated organization of work in Figma (screenshot or prototype of flow structure, theme organization, or token naming).

Responsibilities

  • Scale brand designs across various mediums including booth designs, digital assets, merchandise, and motion graphics.
  • Create static designs and motion graphics for animations and lower-thirds.
  • Make product mockups in Photoshop.
  • Organize work in Figma, demonstrating flow structure, theme organization, or token naming.
  • Collaborate with engineers, understanding the tech stack, and ensuring smooth design-developer handoff.
  • Defend design choices while being mindful of implementation costs.
  • Understand and solve creative friction for end-users.
  • Work on brand messaging, visual strategy, and more conceptual aspects of design.
