About The Position

Cubicle Fugitive is seeking a talented Graphic Designer with an exceptional eye for detail and a passion for building and maintaining brands. This role focuses on brand and website design, requiring demonstrable experience in creating logos, brand systems, corporate websites, and various collateral including advertising and campaigns. The designer will also be involved in the ongoing design and production for the numerous brands managed by the agency. The work primarily serves professional services firms, emphasizing a corporate, considered, and clean aesthetic that clearly positions each firm and helps them attract and retain clients. This is a full-time, permanent position with a hybrid schedule, based in Hamilton, Ontario.

Requirements

  • An excellent portfolio showcasing range across brand and web, clear rationale behind choices, and skill in simplifying complex concepts.
  • Demonstrable brand and website design experience, including designing brand identities and user-friendly websites.
  • Approximately four or more years of experience in a design role.
  • Fluency in Figma and Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator).
  • Genuine comfort working within established brand guidelines and creating new ones.
  • Demonstrated care and ownership, keeping promises, seeking clarity, and focusing on outcomes.
  • Curiosity, resourcefulness, and ability to collaborate effectively, experimenting, finding practical solutions, and exchanging feedback constructively.

Nice To Haves

  • Agency experience.
  • Professional-services or corporate brand experience (law, accounting, engineering, healthcare, etc.).
  • Talent for creating big campaign ideas, brand headlines, and copy.
  • Experience with video production and editing, motion graphics, or photography.

Responsibilities

  • Create across mediums, including building brands from scratch (logos, visual identities, collateral), designing and refining corporate websites, and developing campaigns across digital, social, and video.
  • Produce everyday templates for clients (PowerPoint, Word, email, paid and organic social).
  • Honour, roll out, and protect existing brands by applying established brand systems across various materials, ensuring consistency and improvement without losing brand integrity.
  • Understand client needs, connecting design choices to their audience, goals, and business outcomes, focusing on work that performs and positions the firm.
  • Pitch and present design thinking clearly, both in writing and verbally, to clients and colleagues.
  • Utilize AI tools to enhance efficiency in production, layout generation, wireframing, and mockups.
  • Manage multiple projects, stakeholders, and approvals effectively, working within time and budget constraints.
  • Stay current with design, web, video, and AI trends, testing new approaches and sharing knowledge with the team.
