About The Position

The Graphic Design Specialist III provides advanced technical and creative leadership across FTI’s graphic design function, ensuring consistency, craft excellence, and scalable execution across digital, print, presentation and brand system applications. This role owns how design work is executed, governed, and scaled, but does not define enterprise design strategy or prioritization. This role leads through influence rather than formal people management, setting execution standards, strengthening workflows, and elevating team output through mentorship, coaching, and hands‑on guidance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Digital Media, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 7–10 years of advanced, hands‑on graphic design experience in an in‑house, agency, or corporate environment.
  • Expert‑level proficiency in design tools, including: Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop
  • Demonstrated mastery of layout design, typography, visual systems, and cross‑channel brand application.
  • Proven experience leading complex design projects and serving as a technical authority without formal people management responsibilities.
  • Strong ability to mentor, influence, and elevate peers through guidance, feedback and example.
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills with the ability to balance creative quality, efficiency and deadlines.
  • Strong cross‑functional collaboration and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • experience with Figma, After Effects, Premier Pro or other design tools is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Serves as the highest‑level technical resource for graphic design execution, including advanced layout, typography, visual hierarchy, illustration, iconography and cross‑channel brand application.
  • Leads the execution of complex, high‑visibility, or non‑standard design projects from brief through final delivery, ensuring adherence to FTI brand standards, timelines and quality expectations.
  • Troubleshoots advanced design challenges across digital, print, and presentation workflows, identifying solutions that balance creative intent, efficiency and scalability.
  • Reviews and approves design work for technical accuracy, visual consistency, accessibility and overall brand quality prior to final delivery when required.
  • Acts as a subject‑matter expert on emerging design tools, techniques, trends, and best practices, evaluating applicability to FTI’s environment.
  • Establishes, documents, and evolves graphic design standards, workflows, templates, and technical best practices across all visual outputs.
  • Ensures consistent application of FTI’s brand guidelines, visual systems, templates and accessibility requirements across all design materials.
  • Identifies gaps, risks, or inefficiencies in current design workflows and recommends improvements that increase quality, speed or scalability.
  • Partners with Creative leadership to assess execution feasibility, design approach and technical resourcing for upcoming initiatives, providing input on how work can be delivered effectively within existing standards and systems.
  • Provides input on tools, platforms, templates, typography, and infrastructure supporting future‑state design needs, from an execution, scalability, and quality perspective.
  • Mentors and coaches Graphic Design Specialists I and II through hands‑on guidance, design reviews, and constructive feedback.
  • Supports skill development across advanced layout design, brand systems, visual problem‑solving and efficient production techniques.
  • Supports the Graphic Design Strategy Manager by translating strategic direction into executable standards, workflows, and systems.
  • Models best practices in file organization, design workflows, collaboration and professional communication.
  • Serves as a trusted escalation point for design questions, quality concerns and brand‑related challenges.
  • Contributes to onboarding, training resources, and knowledge‑sharing initiatives for the design team.
  • Assists with vendor coordination alongside leadership, including technical direction, design guidance, deliverable reviews and quality assurance.
  • Collaborates closely with Creative, Content, Strategy, and Project Management partners to ensure design execution aligns with creative intent and business goals.
  • Communicates proactively regarding timelines, risks, dependencies and design considerations.
  • Identifies opportunities to improve design asset organization, reuse and long‑term value.
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
