About The Position

NBCUniversal is seeking motivated students for its Academic Year Internship Program, offering a unique opportunity to work on real projects within the media and entertainment industry. This paid internship spans two full semesters, providing a collaborative environment and support for professional growth. Interns will contribute to meaningful work, build essential skills, and gain experience in a dynamic setting. The program is designed for curious and driven individuals excited about media, entertainment, and technology, fostering daily learning and development.

Requirements

  • Must be actively enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution during the entire duration of the program (September 2026 through April 2027).
  • Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits).
  • Must be presently authorized to work for any employer in the United States and must not require work visa sponsorship from NBCUniversal now or in the future to retain authorization to work in the United States.
  • Must be available to work 16-24 hours per week from September 21, 2026 – April 23, 2027.
  • Must be willing to work in New York, NY.
  • Candidates currently on any student or exchange visa (e.g. F-1 CPT, F-1 OPT, J-1, M-1) are not eligible to apply unless they will be able to change or adjust to another status that grants work authorization without NBCUniversal sponsorship.
  • Must have an active Social Security number.
  • Basic understanding of design principles such as typography, layout, and composition (for Production, Creative Group).
  • Familiarity with vector and raster graphics and common design file formats (for Production, Creative Group).
  • Interest in learning print production fundamentals, including color modes (RGB vs. CMYK), resolution, and how files are prepared for press (for Production, Creative Group).
  • Curiosity about color systems and standards used in print production, including Pantone spot colors and color consistency across materials (for Production, Creative Group).
  • Academic focus on Merchandising, Product Development or Social Media (for Rockefeller Center Operations, Guest Experience).
  • Strong fluency in Excel (for Rockefeller Center Operations, Guest Experience).
  • Photoshop literacy (for Rockefeller Center Operations, Guest Experience).

Nice To Haves

  • Students with class standing of junior or above preferred.
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.

Responsibilities

  • Prepping files for print and digital.
  • Adapting existing assets.
  • Keeping files organized.
  • Helping deliver press-ready materials.
  • Working alongside designers and production professionals.
  • Learning about design systems at scale.
  • Building skills in typography, file prep, preparing logo systems, and brand layouts.
  • Understanding how design translates into tangible products like packaging, signage, and large-format graphics.
  • Developing knowledge around print methods, paper stocks, and color systems.
  • Gaining insight into how creative ideas become finished products.
  • Exposure to merchandising and marketing through projects promoting the Shop, product development, competitive shopping, print marketing, social campaigns, and photoshoots.
