As an NBCUniversal Academic Year intern, you will work on real projects, be part of a collaborative culture, and receive support for growth across two full semesters. The Internship Program focuses on impact, allowing interns to contribute to meaningful work while building valuable skills. It provides an environment for learning and growth for curious, driven individuals excited about media, entertainment, and technology. Internships are paid and include additional benefits for Academic Year interns. Opportunities are available in areas such as Production, Creative Group, and Rockefeller Center Operations, Guest Experience. The Production, Creative Group develops brand and marketing materials, bridging design, brand systems, and production to deliver polished assets for various platforms. Interns in this group will gain hands-on experience preparing real-world assets for print and digital distribution, adapting and refining designs, organizing files, supporting logo development, and delivering press-ready materials. They will collaborate with designers and cross-functional partners, learning print production best practices, foundational skills in typography, file preparation, logo systems, and brand layout execution, as well as exposure to physical production processes. The Rockefeller Center Operations, Guest Experience team oversees Retail, Merchandising, Marketing, and Social for the Shop and Tours, Tours, and Audience Operations. Interns here will be exposed to all areas of Merchandising and Marketing through projects like promoting the Shop, product development, competitive shopping, print marketing, social campaigns, and photoshoots.

Requirements

  • Must be actively enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution during the entire duration of the program (September 2026 through April 2027).
  • December 2026 graduates are not eligible for this Academic Year Internship Program.
  • Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits).
  • Must be presently authorized to work for any employer in the United States and must not require work visa sponsorship from NBCUniversal now or in the future to retain authorization to work in the United States.
  • Must be available to work 16-24 hours per week from September 21, 2026 – April 23, 2027.
  • Must be willing to work in New York, NY.
  • Any candidate receiving an internship offer must complete I-9 form with Social Security number within 3 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Students with class standing of junior or above preferred.
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
  • Basic understanding of design principles such as typography, layout, and composition (for Production, Creative Group).
  • Familiarity with vector and raster graphics and common design file formats (for Production, Creative Group).
  • Interest in learning print production fundamentals, including color modes (RGB vs. CMYK), resolution, and how files are prepared for press (for Production, Creative Group).
  • Curiosity about color systems and standards used in print production, including Pantone spot colors and color consistency across materials (for Production, Creative Group).
  • Academic focus on Merchandising, Product Development or Social Media (for Rockefeller Center Operations, Guest Experience).
  • Strong fluency in Excel (for Rockefeller Center Operations, Guest Experience).
  • Photoshop literacy (for Rockefeller Center Operations, Guest Experience).

Responsibilities

  • Work on real projects in a fast-paced media environment (Production, Creative Group).
  • Be exposed to all areas of Merchandising and Marketing through projects promoting the Shop, product development, competitive shopping, Print marketing, Social campaigns, and photoshoots (Rockefeller Center Operations, Guest Experience).
