Student Assistant - Graphic Design Assistant (College of Fine Arts)
About The Position
This student position supports departmental projects, programs, and activities through creative work. The assistant helps design graphic content for print and electronic media, follows established graphic identity guidelines, and assists with publicity postings for online calendars. The role may also provide hospitality services at occasional evening events. Training and instruction are provided, and no direct experience is required. Applicants must meet the minimum education requirements for admission as a student at Stephen F. Austin State University. Student employment eligibility requires enrollment in at least six semester hours during fall or spring, or at least three semester hours during summer, unless registered for courses in the upcoming fall semester. Student assistants may not simultaneously hold another position such as a graduate assistantship or temporary casual employment. Applicants must upload at least three examples of graphic design work under “Other” in the required documents section.
Requirements
- Meet the minimum education requirements for admittance as a student at Stephen F. Austin State University.
- Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Adobe Express.
- Ability to meet deadlines and multitask.
- Ability to communicate professionally and courteously with university faculty and staff, students, and the general public.
- Ability to understand and follow instructions.
- Upload at least three examples of graphic design work under “Other” in the required documents section.
- For fall or spring student employment, be enrolled in six or more semester hours; for summer employment, be enrolled in three or more semester hours or registered for courses in the upcoming fall semester.
- Do not hold another type of position, such as a graduate assistantship or temporary casual employment, while employed as a student assistant.
Responsibilities
- Assist with designing graphic content for departmental use in print and/or electronic media.
- Follow guidelines to uphold the established graphic identity and ensure quality and conformity of content.
- Assist with publicity postings for online calendars.
- Provide occasional hospitality services for special evening events.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
