About The Position

The Grants Monitoring Assistant is assigned to the Grants Finance Branch of the North Carolina Forest Service Administrative Services Division. This position assists the NCFS Grant Program Managers in developing risk assessments and compliance monitoring plans for grant sub-recipients. This position helps to ensure that these activities are consistent across all NCFS Divisions, adhere to all applicable policy and procedure, are complete, and are conducted on schedule. This position also provides administrative assistance to the NCFS Grant Program Managers, including generating budget revisions, journal voucher requests, requisition requests, reconciling purchasing card transactions, and entering information into a grants database. This position also completes other duties as assigned by the supervisor. The position currently qualifies for a telework option. Telework options are subject to change at the discretion of management.

Requirements

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook).
  • Knowledge of purchasing goods and services.
  • Experience in grant administration.
  • Ability to post reports, maintain databases, and work well independently and collaboratively.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret policy and procedural guidelines in order to resolve problems and answer questions.
  • High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years of related administrative experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assists NCFS Grant Program Managers in developing risk assessments and compliance monitoring plans for grant sub-recipients.

  • Completes other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
