Job Summary: The Grants Manager will focus on grantwriting and managing Brady’s grants calendar, as well as planning stewardship. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years of experience in grantwriting, with strong project management, organization, and collaborative skills. This role ensures the timely submission of proposals and reports, supports the organization in maintaining strong relationships with funders, and assists the Senior Grants Manager in driving Brady’s fundraising efforts. We are seeking a proactive, self-motivated individual with a commitment to high standards of work quality.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher, or 6 years of relevant work experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in grantwriting.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, including experience managing hard deadlines.
  • Demonstrated writing and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and draft proposals/LOIs, grant application narratives, and budgets; collaborate to finalize with program staff, finance, the Senior Grants Manager, and the Chief Development and Engagement Officer.
  • Submit grant applications via paper or online portals, and maintain a list of passwords.
  • Strategically and diligently manage the submission schedule/grants calendar to ensure adherence to funder requirements and secure timely renewals.
  • Maintain master calendar of grants and prospects and all associated files and correspondence.
  • Maintain a library of grant support documents including resumes, bios, IRS forms, Board/staff diversity lists, etc.
  • Manage and update grants data, trackers, calendars, and other related systems.
  • Assist in coordinating strategic outreach and communications to institutional giving donors.
  • Support grants team in developing tailored engagement strategies for prospective institutional donors.
  • Create updated and engaging collateral on Brady programs and strategies for use in prospect outreach and by the broader Brady Development team, as needed.
  • Attend meetings with foundation staff to cultivate, solicit, and steward relationships, as needed, alongside other members of the Brady team.
  • Monitor and maintain funder and investor reporting schedules and requirements.
  • Draft compelling progress reports and targeted program updates to funders that fully capture programmatic success.
  • Assemble all necessary supporting materials and documents, including budget reports, outcome measurements, success stories, etc.; submit reports to funders and investors.
  • Assist the Senior Grants Manager and Finance team in improving accounting policies and procedures related to grant funding.
  • Attend biweekly/monthly check-ins with the Programs team to stay up-to-date on organizational activities and strategize fundraising efforts.
  • Assist the Senior Grants Manager in tracking progress toward organizational and programmatic outcomes and goals.
  • Be familiar with and able to communicate the details of Brady’s grants portfolio.
