About The Position

Grants Manager Full-Time, Exempt Location: Administrative Office/Hybrid Reports to: Vice President of Resource Development Schedule: Monday-Friday, occasional weekends Compensation : $55,000-$60,000 About Us Boys & Girls Clubs of Kentuckiana (BGCK) is an out-of-school time provider, offering a safe haven for youth who need us most. Our mission is to inspire & enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to realize & develop their full potential as productive, responsible & caring citizens. Essential Job Responsibilities The Grants Manager is responsible for the overall grant efforts of the organization. This individual manages the planning, preparation, and writing of grant proposals, researches funding opportunities, monitors expenditures; identifies supporting agencies, and tracks results. This individual collaborates with leadership to create compelling grant proposals and funding requests. This individual conducts targeted research to identify new institutional funders and helps grow the existing portfolio of funders to ensure the organization maintains a diverse portfolio.

Requirements

  • High School degree or G.E.D. is required
  • At least three years of experience in grant writing or grant management
  • A passion and understanding of the mission, objectives, policies, programs, and procedures of BGCK
  • Ability to maintain a positive, friendly, and cooperative attitude in the workplace
  • High ethical standards
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written
  • Ability to maintain professional relationships with internal staff and external partners
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines

  • Ability to continuously stand and move around the Club
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to navigate stairs (if located at our Parkland or California Clubs)

Responsibilities

  • Lead grant proposal development and submission – preparing and organizing materials for proposals and submitting and monitoring grant applications, including:
  • Research new funding and business development opportunities on a local, regional, and nation-wide level
  • Maintain and build relationships with funders and other strategic partners
  • Draft proposals, grant application narratives, and budgets to collaborate to finalize with appropriate staff
  • Submit grant applications via paper or online portals, and maintain a list of access information
  • Meet with funders and staff to explore funding opportunities
  • Maintain master calendar of grants and prospects and all associated files and correspondence
  • Maintain library of grant supporting documents necessary for proposals
  • Ensure acknowledgement of funders via Company website, newsletter, and/or social media
  • Maintain grant compliance and reporting of outcome measurements and grant budgets, including:
  • Monitor and maintain funder and investor reporting schedules and requirements
  • Track progress toward organizational outcomes and goals
  • Request reimbursements and drawdowns as needed
  • Draft compelling progress reports and updates to funders to fully capture programmatic success
  • Assemble all necessary supporting materials and documents including budget reports, outcome measurements, success stories and submit reports to funders
  • May be required to drive a Club vehicle as needed
  • Travel between Clubs and/or the Admin Office for trainings and meetings
  • Support Community Events/Fundraisers
  • All other duties as assigned
