About The Position

A mission-driven nonprofit organization is seeking an experienced Grants Manager to join its development team. Reporting to the Grants Director, the Grants Manager will play a key role in managing the organization's grant portfolio, developing compelling funding proposals, and ensuring timely and accurate reporting to foundation, corporate, United Way, and government funders. This position is ideal for a strong writer and relationship builder who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about advancing a meaningful community-focused mission.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required; degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Public Affairs, Public Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in grant writing and grants management, with a demonstrated record of success.
  • Proven experience developing competitive grant proposals and managing grant reporting requirements.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong commitment to the organization's mission and the communities it serves.
  • Excellent written communication skills and the ability to communicate complex information clearly, concisely, and persuasively.
  • Demonstrated success managing multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • A collaborative approach and the ability to build positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of grant development best practices and a demonstrated track record of securing and maintaining successful funding relationships.
  • The ability to work independently while remaining highly collaborative.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret and communicate data effectively.
  • A high degree of integrity, initiative, professionalism, and resilience.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using Salesforce or a similar donor/fundraising database preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of foundation, corporate, United Way, and/or government funding processes preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, write, and submit compelling grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and funder reports.
  • Review and interpret Requests for Proposals (RFPs), funding guidelines, and other solicitation requirements.
  • Maintain an accurate grants and reporting calendar to ensure all deadlines and deliverables are met.
  • Manage electronic files and documentation for current and prospective foundation, corporate, United Way, and government funders.
  • Track grant submissions, awards, reporting requirements, and solicitation activity within the organization's database.
  • Research and identify new grant prospects and funding opportunities.
  • Work closely with internal program and leadership teams to understand funding needs, program outcomes, and the use of grant funds.
  • Support corporate funding and special event sponsorship requests as needed.
  • Draft acknowledgment letters and other correspondence on behalf of organizational leadership.
  • Review and analyze program and financial data to support grant applications and reporting.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop accurate, timely, and persuasive funding materials.
  • Provide additional development and writing support as needed.
