Requirements

  • Belief in the mission and values of Easterseals Redwood.
  • Bachelor’s degree and at least three years of successful grant writing and grant management experience, including both philanthropic and government grants.
  • Experience building and stewarding relationships with foundation, corporate, and/or government funders.
  • Strong persuasive and technical writing, editing, research, and storytelling skills, with the ability to tailor information for varied audiences.
  • Working knowledge of nonprofit budgeting, grant budgets, financial reporting, allowable costs, and collaboration with finance staff.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, project management skills, creativity, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to interpret funder guidelines, contracts, regulations, program data, and financial information and communicate requirements clearly across departments.
  • Knowledge of outcome measurement, evaluation planning, data visualization, and impact reporting.
  • Experience with Raiser’s Edge NXT, Instrumentl, or comparable systems.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of foundation and government funding opportunities and develop an annual grants strategy for each.
  • Translate program, financial, and outcome information into accurate and persuasive narratives tailored to each funder.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to create work plans and timelines for grant submissions and coordinate agency-wide input.
  • Manage the reporting calendar and prepare timely, accurate financial and programmatic reports.
  • Serve as a key contact for foundation and government funders.
  • Coordinate with marketing to communicate grant awards and program impact to ensure recognition, publicity, and messaging comply with funder guidelines and organizational standards.
  • Maintain accurate records in Raiser’s Edge NXT and Instrumentl, and utilize technology to maximize opportunity and efficiency.
  • Supervise and support the Grants Specialist through goal-setting, workload management, coaching, quality review, and professional development.
  • Contribute to annual fundraising goals, campaign planning, and strategic initiatives to advance Easterseals Redwood’s mission and long-term sustainability.
