About The Position

This position is responsible for providing grant writing and management of grants for the City in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles associated with grants administration. MAJOR DUTIES Manages grant timelines and deliverables; tracks applications; prepares grant progress/financial reports. Prepares and submits grant applications in a timely manner on behalf of the City to request federal, state, or local assistance. Develops grant applications; ensures compliance with grant guidelines and deadlines. Carefully reviews all opportunities to ensure eligibility and application requirements. Develops and implements program goals, objectives, and budgets; monitors, reports, and adjusts program goals, objectives, and budgets as needed. Collaborates with department directors to identify needs and potential grant opportunities to meet those needs. Works with department directors and Finance Department staff to submit invoices for grant reimbursement; tracks all invoice throughout grant life cycles to ensure financial compliance. Submits all narratives, budgets, and required attachments into specific grantor online portal. Coordinates with department directors to ensure that all tasks and milestones are accomplished in a timely manner consistent with grant guidance. Maintains a current list of grant opportunities that include previous awards as well as those aligned with established City goals.. Develops grant related budgets and requests or drafts letters of support. Presents informational and action items to the Mayor and Council. Performs all other duties as assigned.

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Three or more years of successful grant writing, data analytics, and grant administration experience.
  • Familiarity with federal, state, and private funding sources, proficient in working with project teams, familiar with federal grant regulations
  • Any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training which provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the work.
  • Possession of a valid state driver’s license issued for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
