About The Position

Join the YMCA of the Black Hills as a Grants & Impact Reporting Manager to use your writing, organizational, and analytical skills to advance a mission that strengthens local communities. This role involves identifying and securing funding, managing grants from application through award, and communicating the impact of the Y. You will lead the full grant lifecycle, including researching funding opportunities, developing proposals, managing compliance, tracking budgets, coordinating reporting, and identifying renewal opportunities. You will collaborate with various departments to align funding with programs and strategic priorities. The role requires understanding funder priorities, program strengths, and effectively communicating the value of the Y's work through data, outcomes, and success stories. You will also maintain a grants calendar and database, monitor deadlines, support compliance, track budgets, and coordinate outcome data collection to ensure responsible resource stewardship and demonstrate meaningful results. Building relationships internally and externally is key, serving as a resource on grant development, compliance, and impact reporting. You will connect people, information, and opportunities to secure resources and demonstrate community impact.

Nice To Haves

  • 3–5 years of experience in grant writing, grants management, nonprofit development, program evaluation, or a related field

Responsibilities

  • Lead the full grant lifecycle, from researching funding opportunities and developing compelling proposals to managing compliance, tracking budgets, coordinating reporting, and identifying opportunities for renewal.
  • Work closely with program directors, branch leaders, finance, marketing, and administration to connect funding opportunities with programs and strategic priorities.
  • Gather program outcomes, participant data, success stories, and financial information to create proposals and reports that demonstrate the YMCA's effectiveness and community impact.
  • Maintain a comprehensive grants calendar and database.
  • Monitor reporting deadlines.
  • Support grant compliance.
  • Track budgets and allowable expenses.
  • Coordinate the collection of outcome data across YMCA programs.
  • Serve as an internal resource on grant development, compliance, and impact reporting.
  • Collaborate with staff across the organization to gather information for applications and reports.
  • Secure resources, tell powerful stories, and demonstrate the difference the YMCA makes in the lives of people throughout the community.
