About The Position

This position is responsible for identifying potential grant opportunities through research, preparing and submitting funding proposals and applications, and serving as the Point of Contact for funders during application review meetings. The role also involves reviewing contracts for compliance with laws and regulations, preparing them for submission to relevant departments, and responding to inquiries. A key responsibility is implementing and maintaining a funding calendar, including a schedule of compliance reporting and requirements, and activating necessary resources to support these requirements. The position also entails maintaining appropriate databases established by funders and serving as a liaison between funders, Command, Division, and Territorial Headquarters. Additionally, the role involves investigating and providing information to Corps relative to licensure and standards for operations for funding programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration, Social Work, or a related field.
  • Three years progressively responsible experience in contract administration and grant writing.
  • Ability to meet attendance requirements.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in research, interpreting and analyzing diverse data.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently to achieve stated goals.
  • Ability to effectively and efficiently work on multiple projects at the same time without becoming frustrated or disorganized.
  • Ability to integrate and interpret data from various sources and to plan, develop, and implement responsible strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Identify potential grant opportunities via research of typical and atypical channels.
  • Prepare funding proposals and applications for new government, corporate, foundations and private funding prospects, and submits on a timely basis.
  • Serve as the Point of Contact for Q&A with funders during in-person or online application review meetings.
  • Review contracts for compliance with applicable laws and regulations; prepare contracts for submission to Social Services, Property Management or other DHQ departments.
  • Respond to inquiries from DHQ and DFB.
  • Implement and maintain funding calendar activities including a schedule of compliance reporting and requirements.
  • Activate necessary resources to provide information in support of compliance requirements.
  • Maintain appropriate databases established by funders such as Council On Aging and the HFUW 211 website.
  • Prepare and submit applications to funding agencies including, but not limited to, City, County, State and Federal governments, local agencies, corporations, and foundations.
  • Review applications, contracts, and grants for compliance with local, state, and federal guidelines.
  • Monitor and prepare grants for submission via TSAMM to Social Services, Property Management or other DHQ departments for review prior to submission by those departments to the Divisional Finance Board/Board of Trustees.
  • Serve as liaison between funders, Command, Division and Territorial Headquarters.
  • Investigate and provide information to Corps relative to licensure, standards for operations, etc. for funding programs.
