About The Position

The Department for Children and Families' Grants and Contracts Unit is seeking a detail-oriented individual to join their team. This role involves working with budgets, spreadsheets, and performance-based data to support DCF's initiatives. The unit collaborates with internal and external partners across various divisions, including Child Development, Disability Determination Services, Economic Services, Family Services, Office of Economic Opportunities, and Office of Child Support. Key qualifications include financial reconciliation and budgeting understanding, customer service skills, strong communication, independence, flexibility, and a willingness to learn. Experience with Uniform Guidance, Agency of Administration's Bulletins 3.5 and 5, agreement drafting, or developing scopes of work is considered a plus.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher AND two (2) years of work experience that includes one or more of the following: (a) administration of grants/contracts as a funder and/or recipient; (b) collaboration with community partners in the delivery of social services; c) enforcement of provider agreements; OR d) management of financial affairs or a governmental accounting system.
  • OR Four (4) years of experience that includes one or more of the following: (a) administration of grants/contracts as a funder and/or recipient; (b) collaboration with community partners in the delivery of social services; c) enforcement of provider agreements; OR d) management of financial affairs or a governmental accounting system.
  • Understanding of financial reconciliation and budgeting.
  • Strength-based customer service.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work independently and juggle competing demands.
  • Flexibility.
  • Willingness to learn.
  • Private means of transportation must be available for field work.
