About The Position

The Grants Analyst position will be responsible for managing daily grants management activities for the Tennessee Department of Health, Division of Health Disparities Elimination. This position reports to the Division's Grants Manager and will maintain a portfolio of grants and contracts, including federal, state, and local funding. The position will prepare status reports for grants, contracts, and budgets. Maintaining knowledge of grants and contracts and respective budgets to assist in compliance with finance and administrative guidelines, deadlines, and audits is a core function of the position. This position will assist with budget preparation, monitoring expenditures, and preparing and monitoring contracts. The position will also identify and develop strategies to optimize the grants administration process.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree
• Experience equivalent to five years of full-time grants management, grant analytics, or grants administration experience
• Demonstrated knowledge of grant management cycle from application submission to submitting the final reports.
• Outstanding written and verbal communications skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and lay audiences
• Demonstrated exceptional inter-personal skills
• Adaptable to various competing demands, actively seeks next challenge and proposes solutions
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Demonstrated ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced environment with a proven track record of consistently meeting performance metrics and deadlines
• Advanced abilities with Microsoft Excel and other Office applications
• Strong ability to contribute positively to a team-based environment
• Excellent collaboration and facilitation, reporting and presentation skills
• Must reside in or be willing to relocate to Tennessee.

Responsibilities

• Maintain grant monitoring procedures and processes
• Monitor and report on grants to the state and on grants from the state to other entities
• Prepare reports and maintain databases relative to grant development and administration
• Train staff on grants management and reporting requirements
• Provide consultation and technical assistance to internal and external staff, contractors, and subcontractors of grants and cooperative agreements
• Attend grant review and update meetings and provide administrative information as needed
• Analyze grant budget trends
• Monitor monthly and quarterly budget spend down and systems to track financial and grant administration deadlines
• Prepare and obtain necessary documents for grant-funded programs and provide detailed reports to key staff and leadership
