The Ponca Tribe of Nebraska is a federally recognized Tribe with its ancestral homeland located in Niobrara, NE. The Tribe does not have a reservation in the classic definition; rather, the Ponca Restoration Act defined its jurisdiction as a ‘Service Delivery Area’ comprised of 15 counties throughout parts of Nebraska, Iowa, and South Dakota. Within its Service Delivery Area, the Tribe offers a broad range of health, social, educational, and cultural services. This role is responsible for researching grant programs, writing funding applications/proposals, and coordinating/leading the transition activities of awarded grant programs. The position works closely with the CEO of Tribal Affairs and Health and all Program Directors within the Tribe on all aspects of the Tribe’s development needs, including: culture, education, social services, economic development, environmental and overall development. Primarily responsible for development of new programs, including identifying appropriate funding sources, researching organizations, writing and submitting appropriate grant proposals. The role also works closely with the CEO Tribal Affairs and Health, COOs of Tribal Affairs and all Program Directors to identify appropriate and prospective funding sources and supervises the Grants Department.
