About The Position

Grant Writer Intern Remote | Anywhere in Canada Internship: 4–12 Months (Flexible) Do you love research, writing, and crafting compelling stories that lead to real‑world impact? Join our team as a Grant Writer Intern and help secure funding that supports entrepreneurship, economic development, and small‑ and mid‑sized businesses across Canada. At CCIB, we’re dedicated to strengthening and enhancing a prosperous Indigenous economy by fostering business relationships, opportunities, and awareness. As a national Indigenous, non-partisan association, we champion inclusivity and innovation. This role is ideal for a 3rd or 4th year student who wants hands‑on experience in grant writing, research, and business development within a mission‑driven non‑profit organization. This opportunity is available to current Ontario‑based university students.

Requirements

  • 3rd or 4th year student in Communications, Business, Public Policy, Economics, Social Sciences, or related field
  • Strong research, writing, and editing skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and deadline management
  • Ability to synthesize complex information clearly
  • Interest in non-profit work, entrepreneurship, and community development

Nice To Haves

  • Research or policy analysis experience
  • Familiarity with impact metrics or reporting
  • Previous non-profit, internship, or volunteer experience

Responsibilities

  • Research and track grant and funding opportunities
  • Draft grant proposals, letters of intent, and applications
  • Align program outcomes with funder priorities and criteria
  • Support budgets, logic models, and impact reporting
  • Conduct research on economic development and SMB trends
  • Gather data, success stories, and documentation for proposals
  • Maintain organized records of applications and outcomes
