About The Position

The Grant Specialist conducts research on potential funding sources, plans projects for grant funding, writes and submits grant proposals, and assists with the administration and tracking of grant funds. This role involves networking within the grants field, staying current with publications, and preparing reports for boards. The specialist will also assist in the audit of funded grant programs.

Responsibilities

• Assists in the audit of any funded grant program.
• Assists with administration of grant funds. Serves as a liaison with appropriate departments and/or agencies to implement grants awarded. Establishes necessary procedures such as resources, contracts, cost centers, and measures to implement and promote the project within the guidelines of the funding agency. Resolves issues arising with grant, project and funds.
• Conducts research on potential funding sources pertinent to the objectives of SBLHS and SBLHF.
• Networks locally, regionally, and nationally to remain current on sources in the field of grants. Is active in professional associations in the field of grants and fund raising. Keeps current with publications pertinent to grantmanship fund raising.
• Prepares reports for the SBLHS and SBLHF boards.
• Remains current on sources for grants including governmental sources, corporate sponsors, private foundations, vendors and suppliers.
• Tracks and measures grant projects and funds. Provides reports and follow-up with funding sources in accordance with the guidelines of the funding agency.
• Works with departments, medical staff and community partners to plan projects for grant funding. Establishes goals, objectives, expected outcomes, budget analysis, and applications of funds in accordance with funding source guidelines and criteria.
• Writes, prepares and submits innovative and competitive grant proposals, solicitation letters and other required documentation. Prepares budgets.
