About The Position

The Grant Services Specialist is a professional, client-facing position responsible for managing an assigned portfolio of charter school clients and providing year-round grant support, compliance guidance, technical assistance, and application management. The Grant Services Specialist works collaboratively with school leadership, Finance Consultants, and fellow Grants Team members to guide schools through every stage of the grant lifecycle. The position requires exceptional organization, communication, analytical thinking, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while delivering outstanding customer service.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum of three (3) years of professional experience in grant administration, education, school finance, compliance, charter school operations, or a related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to independently manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Ability to work successfully in a remote environment.

Responsibilities

  • Managing an assigned portfolio of grant clients.
  • Developing, preparing, submitting, and amending federal and competitive grant applications.
  • Monitoring grant compliance throughout the grant cycle.
  • Assisting schools in maximizing available funding while ensuring compliance with federal and state requirements.
  • Monitoring grant spending, allocations, carryover, and required deadlines.
  • Preparing and submitting required grant narratives, applications, budgets, amendments, and compliance documentation.
  • Providing year-round technical assistance and grant guidance to school leadership.
  • Supporting schools during monitoring visits, desk reviews, and compliance reviews.
  • Researching and interpreting federal and state guidance related to grant administration.
  • Identifying additional funding opportunities that may benefit assigned schools.
  • Building strong, professional relationships with clients through proactive communication and exceptional customer service.
  • Collaborating with Finance Consultants to coordinate grant budgets, financial reporting, and allowable expenditures.
  • Participating in client meetings, trainings, conferences, and professional development opportunities.
  • Assisting with internal process improvements, documentation, and cross-training initiatives.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to assigned charter schools.
  • Conduct virtual client meetings and occasional on-site visits.
  • Respond promptly to client questions and provide practical, solution-focused guidance.
  • Develop and maintain positive long-term client relationships.
  • Attend state conferences, DPI trainings, webinars, and professional development opportunities.
  • Stay current on federal education regulations, grant requirements, and emerging funding opportunities.
  • Share knowledge and best practices with fellow team members.
