About The Position

The Grant Specialist I position is a part-time role with a hybrid work arrangement, requiring 12 hours per week in-office on Mondays and Tuesdays, and up to 8 additional remote hours from Wednesday through Friday. The role involves checking receipts and invoices for allowable expenses, meeting with contractors and grantees to clarify billing issues and review reports, drafting reports for supervisor review, maintaining orderly files and record-keeping systems, monitoring and tracking documentation to ensure timelines are met, and identifying and communicating critical issues to the Early Childhood Utah program manager and team. This position supports the Early Childhood Utah Program.

Requirements

  • Basic accounting skills
  • Strong written and verbal skills without the use of AI
  • Excellent collaborative and interpersonal skills with ability to exhibit flexibility, use diplomacy, and be a team player
  • An ability to speak clearly, concisely, and effectively; listen to, and understand, information and ideas as presented verbally
  • An ability to communicate information and ideas clearly, and concisely, in writing; read and understand information presented in writing
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and Google Suite
  • Excellent organization skills
  • An ability to use automated software applications

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in applying 2 CFR 200 (Uniform Guidance) for allowability of grant expenses
  • Experience in monitoring of federal grants
  • Experience in data tracking and validation

Responsibilities
