About The Position

The National Endowment for Democracy (NED) seeks to advance democracy and freedom. Our values include: Respect Empathy Accountability Adaptability Excellence The Grant Operations Temp provides critical administrative and operational support for grantmaking activities and internal team functions. This temporary position will backfill tasks during a period of high work volume and gaps in support staff capacity. Key tasks include accurate data entry, record management, and quality control review of grantee financial reports. The ideal candidate has experience as a user of a grants management system or other data management tool, is highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and efficiency. This is a hybrid position based in Washington, DC.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • One to two years of administrative, office support, customer service, or related experience.
  • Experience entering and maintaining accurate data in databases or other electronic systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and prioritization skills.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Dependable, collaborative, and service-oriented approach to work.
  • Interest in international affairs and the support and strengthening of democratic institutions worldwide.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

  • Foreign language fluency in Arabic, French, Russian, or Spanish is helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Enter and maintain information in the grant management system.
  • Review grant records and supporting documentation for completeness and accuracy.
  • Track grant documentation and ensure required records are received, filed, and maintained.
  • Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality of grant and organizational data.
  • Provide general administrative support for the Grant Operations department.
