About The Position

This is administrative work of a specialized nature carrying out varied professional assignments within a City department. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: assisting with producing and developing creative ideas and/or projects for the enhancement of the department, office and/or city; assisting with coordinating and implementing various special projects; assisting with promoting a specific departmental project; meeting with various organizations in the private and/or public area to coordinate joint partnership for the enhancement of the department, office and or city; preparing and maintaining various reports and records; providing information to the public; and serving as a liaison between outside agencies and city officials. Performs other related duties as required. Independent judgment is exercised in performing specialized functions within general guidelines and policies. Prepares reports, presents ideas and makes recommendations to the department director and/or other City officials. Reports to a department director or his/her designee. May attend meetings representing the department, as required.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 60 college credits and three (3) years administrative experience
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience beyond a high school diploma or its equivalent and one (1) year of the required experience
  • Proof of education: 60 college credits
  • Foreign diplomas/degrees must be submitted with a credential evaluation report from an approved credential evaluation agency.
  • If degree/diploma does not reflect the academic major on its face, transcripts must be submitted.
  • If submitting transcripts, submitted transcripts must include the following: student's name, school name, number of credits, degree completion, and major.
  • To qualify under the equivalency clause, applicant must provide proof of education in one or more of the following applicable forms: High School Diploma or its equivalent or a transcript showing 60 college credits or a n Associate's degree or higher.
  • Applicants must provide a valid email address in order to receive notification of eligibility.
  • Applicants, including City of Miami employees, must completely detail their work experience on the employment application or risk being disqualified.
